Volunteers are an integral part as well as indispensable to the delivery of services at Coastal Hospice; without a core of trained and dedicated volunteers, many needed services of our hospice program could not be accomplished.
Volunteers are utilized in many areas at Coastal Hospice. Volunteers may become a member of the patient/family Care Team, work in the office, provide community education, or meet some special need. Each volunteer task is tailored to the interests and skills of the volunteer. Volunteers are such a vital part of the program that they are considered employees of Coastal Hospice and have the same rights and responsibilities as paid staff.
Coastal Hospice volunteers are expected to complete a Volunteer Orientation and Training Program prior to assuming assigned patient/family care duties. After training and placement, ongoing in-service training programs are held for hospice staff and volunteers. These sessions offer the chance to increase skills and discuss issues/problems related to patient /family cares, as well as the opportunity for the staff and volunteers to share successes.
We love to have you as a Coastal Hospice Volunteer, and we hope that your association with this program will be meaningful and rewarding.
